The Section 8 Housing Department of the St. Martin Parish Government utilizes funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  This program supplements the rental payments of low and very low income families to the property owner on behalf of the family.

Applications for Rental Subsidy

This Section 8 Housing Department takes applications for the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program only on WEDNESDAY, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Before applications are accepted, the family MUST fill out an application form and provide ALL of the following information:

  • Pictured I.D. (Head of household)

  • Birth Certificates of all family members

  • Social Security Cards of all family members

  • Verification of the total Family Income (examples: check stubs, social security statement, AFDC report, child support, grants, all cash income or donations must be notarized)

  • Provide all of the most recent Monthly Bills (examples: electric, water, sewage, cable, telephone, car, insurance)

  • A Criminal Background Report from the Sheriff's Office of the parish you live in is required.
